Seriously, it depends on how the particular installation is tuned. You can add
or take away spacers to "load" the spring in the center
and increase the amount of tenision exerted on the radius rods and vertical
link. A little preload is desirable but it is possible to
make the preload neutral or even a bit negative.
That gives the ability to customize the performance of the CC.
