John,

My two cents: Since your magazine is Spitfire (and GT6), giving away a GT6
would be completely acceptable. In fact, I've been keeping my eye open
locally for one to restore and give to my son. My wife would never let him
drive a convertible, but I don't think she could object to a hard top.
Personally, I think it would be somewhat inappropriate to give away a TR4,
but then again, I'd sure like to own one! Or, with a little spit and polish
(to borrow your phrase), you could sell the TR4 and buy a nice fully
restored Spitfire to give away (there's a nice '67 Mk2 for sale in San Diego
for $4k). Or you could buy two or maybe even three $2k Spitfires to give
away! Or a Spitfire AND a GT6 to give away! If it's free, give away
whatever you want! If I were going to enter your contest though, I think
I'd be more interested in a car other than what I already own, anyway! I
guess I'm not only a one woman man, I'm also a one Spitfire man!

Good luck!

Best wishes,

Jeff in San Diego
