Sorry if you found my *tone* harsh as I was commenting in a humorous manner.
Maybe my facts were inaccurate/obsolete for your area or who you know, but in
MY case, they are pretty much on the mark. I'm not ready for the rest home
yet, I'm 37 with an awful lot of automotive experience, and most of the
people I know are under 50, out of the majority of them, I'm one of the old
guys. Most of the people I know or associate with are "REAL" drivers, truck
drivers, street racers and such and definitely know what a clutch is and how
to use one. The others know what a clutch is but using it is a different
matter, I know, I've tried to teach them but didn't want to go bald......
yet. I rereadthe post to see if I misread something. What I saw was, <On a

people in the past doing $5 transactions, I assumed that my car would and
should be worth lots more than that. I have lived in L.A. all of my life but
have travelled to approximately a little more than a third of the states in
the union to visit my relatives there. They are some beautiful places and
some of my relatives refuse to come visit because even though they've NEVER
been here, they can tell me what it is like to live in L.A. and how terrible
it is here, but yet when I go to their cities, I run across vendors with ads
in the papers selling their wares with some sort of L.A. connection (for
example, the car stereo shop selling amplifiers with "L.A. Lights", this was
in Milwaukee and I'm still trying to figure out what the heck L.A. Lights
are). If you notice on my reply, the very first thing I said was "Now I'm
curious", if you took my asking a question some a *tone* of some sort, I
really don't know what to say. I have left my keys in my car before and
found it still there, my ex-wife left the keys in the trunk of our 71 Dodge
Challenger parked in front of the house and two and a half hours later,
someone rang the bell and brought the keys to us. This is not unusual for
L.A. and there are criminals everywhere. With 3 1/2 million people here, our
crime rate isn't bad. If others do not wish to come here this is fine too as
we might not appreciate what they bring.
