Hi Michael
I think this would hold true but for the fact that as a list we have a
tendency to reply to list AND CC everyone already involved with the thread,
therefore bypassing the protection offered by the server!
In future I shall try even harder than before to reply to list only unless
requested to send directly to someone on the digest etc.
On the note of list etiquette I believe that all lbc relevant responses
should go via the list, Yes I know in the past I have suggested people
respond directly to me for something, but was amazed at the diversity of
responses and the self correcting nature of the list with people picking up
on errors or omissions made by another lister, meaning that the end result
was a far more useful solution than the first response. That is not meant to
detract from what the first responses are but to say that although we all do
our best sometimes the question is misread / misunderstood by some one and
the list will help sort it out. Some of us myself included have no
experience on certain models but when the responses look a bit thin on the
ground we will often have a go, it is at this point that someone in the know
will chime in and put us right when we are wrong, the day that doesn't
happen is the day we will stop having a go, and the list will be a poorer
place for it!

Graham.
