Just took my spare unit apart and made the following observations.
Facing the gas tank, from the rear of the car, in other words looking into the
trunk

1.    The two electrical connections form a line at about the 10 to 11 oclock
position. (ie 10:30)

Still looking at it from the rear,
2.    The float swings to the right of the sender unit
