Paul is correct.  And so is Joe.  On 73 & 74 non-OD 3 rails there is a 
seatbelt/ignition switch activated by an external gearlever shaft cam.  On 73 
OD models the D-type OD inhibitor switch (mounted on the same bracket but 
directly opposite the seatbelt/ignition switch) is activated by the same 
shaft, but a different type of cam is fitted so that both switches are 
operated depending on the gear lever position.  To further complicate 
matters, 74 OD's changed to J-types.  Most of the seatbelt switches have been 
bypassed over the years.
