Thanks to all who responded to my question. I did install the felt
pads/seals when I did the job. It makes sense these compress, but it was
just that I was initially concerned I over tightened them and thought that
they wouldn't compress that much - I guess you learn...
I have tightened them up and all seems better. It sounds like from the
feedback I got I can expect to do it again in a few weeks/months. I will
keep my eye on it.
