Hi all!

I saw a bit of the thread the other day about using/not using overdrives
-- I would still be on the road home from Breckenridge if Brad's Spit
didn't have OD! It was the biggest help on the highway (next to the
cruise control), plus I used third OD a lot going up a lot of the
mountains.

On the way home (from mountainous country to flat) we were averaging 65
mph (Brad towing the Amphi and me following in the Spit).
Without OD: 3500-3600 rpms, higher engine note, more strain on engine.
With OD: 3000 rpms, lower engine note, car seemed to run better.
I would not have been comfortable or happy driving from Breckenridge to
Dallas if the car did not have OD. I understand there are some
situations where overdrive would be better not being used (stop and
start local driving, for one), but for the 900+ miles I drove the car
with the OD on the highway, it was a BLESSING and surely saved the car a
lot of wear. I have never driven a Spit with OD before, and I am 100%
totally and completely SOLD on it!!! (I have driven Spits without OD's
for many years, so I do know what I am talking about.)

Brad, your car rocks!!

Keep Triumphing,
Susan :)
