Well, lessee....
6" rims with 3.5" backspace = +0.5" offset.
205 section width means roughly 205 mm width (appr 8")
60 series means that the height = .60 x 8" = 4.8"
so tire diameter is 14"+4.8"+4.8"=23.6" (approx)
It's probably a little smaller.

Here is a link to Paul Tegler's Spit tire chart:
http://teglerizer.com/tirecharts/index.html

You can see that the 205/60-14 is close to some listed
there, but just a bit taller.

I believe that the stock Spit rims are around +0.5
offset too, so you are in the ballpark. Are these the
TR-7 rims?

But fractions of an inch count.

You might need to go to a narrower tire, with a
smaller section width ( 195, 185, ...), or a shorter
tire ( 55 series, or 50 series ), to move the sidewall
bulge down/out from the fender lip. It is relatively
easy to 'curl' the inner edge of a Spitfire fender
under for clearance, but you must be careful not to
crinkle the outer panel.

Lot's of good info on the Tire Rack page (NFI)

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/SearchTires.jsp

There are 195/60-14's, 185/60-14, even a 185/55-14.

In absence of someone who actually has 205/60-14 on
their Spit with +0.5" offset wheels, I hope this
helps.
