I posted this a while ago....


According to the Triumph Tune manual, Spit IV / 1500 should have a fitted
length of 8".  The spring rate is 180 lb/inch.  GT6's have a fitted length
of 8.1", but a rate of 220 lb/inch.  This means that they will look almost
identical off the car but give a different fitted height due to the extra
weight of the 6 cyl engine if fitted on the wrong car.  The manual also
states that a fibreglass bonnet will generally raise the car nose by 1/2".
Various alternative springs are available for our cars with different fitted
lengths and spring rates to enable you to change the handling
characteristics or appearance of the car.
