Hello Everyone!
I wanted to let you all know that I'm leaving on the 10th for Texas to
participate in the 20th Anniversary of the Great Race. Yes! I'm excited!
Especially excited because on Thursday afternoon, I got a call from
Texas to "saddle-up"- I've got a job to do-Yes! I got a ride as a
competitor! I'll be navigating! I'm teaming up with the same driver and car
I was teamed with in March in the Texas regional-George Tarbutton and his
1942 Ford Sedan. George is a great guy-and a truly Great Racer. This is his
5th Great Race. (Yes, I'm a rookie running in the Expert Class!) We fully
expect to finish the race and hope to finish well.
You can follow along by checking on the adventures and progress of Team
Scrappy (Car 45-my old team and good friends and mentors) at
http://www.britishpacific.com and checking their Team Scrappy Updates. (We
update every night-technology willing! You can also check the overall
progress of the race at http://www.greatrace.com They also have a list of
where the competitors will be stopping everyday-but no matter, if you
can-be sure to come out to the daily finish line-it's great fun, a great
event and I'll be there!
Those of you in Southern California, I hope to see some of you at the
finish line on Saturday, June 22nd in Anaheim, CA-there's lots of great
stuff planned! To find the directions go to
http://www.downtownanaheim.com/map.htm (All these links will be accessible
through my web site www.rallyegirl.com ) So, come on out for some fun,
excitement and see how we did-and when we get to Anaheim, I'll be a rookie
no more!
So, we're off! You e-mails are appreciated as last years were-I just might
not get to answer any until I get back, but I thank you all for your
support and friendship.
Laura G.
p.s.-Special thanks to...well, you all know who you are!
