I bought an aluminum bellhousing for my 3-rail transmission with j-type OD. It
had a rubber press in seal for the input shaft. I ordered the only seal
available for the bellhouse/ inputshaft I found and it was not correct. OD too
large.
The input shaft diameter, in the seal area, is the same for the 3-rail and the
single rail, but the inserts in the iron bell and the aluminum bell are
different.
Should I search for a different seal or change out the inserts?
