A dremel tool will cut the slot in the head of the bolt with ease.

Ahhh simplicity!!  I love the solution by Paul Geithner and Harold
O'Reilly ...  just cut screwdriver slots in them and unscrew them. Then,
reuse them!!

sending me the actual size - 5/16" x3/4" UNF  (18 pitch )
