Whether it is an 1804 silver dollar, Chippendale original, or a Sprite,
an item's "actual value" is exactly what a person is willing to pay for
it at any given time and place.  While some types of auctions may be
subject to emotionalism, that very emotionalism is part and parcel of
determining "actual value" whether they sell under the hammer or in a
darkened alley.
