With all this talk of oil pressure, I looked up the specs in the owner's
manual. For a Sprite MkIII 1098, the pressures are listed as:

Normal (approx.) .. .. 30 to 60 lb./sq. in. (2.1 to 4.2 kg./cm.^2)
Idling (approx.) .. .. 10 to 25 lb./sq. in. (.7 to 1.7 kg./cm/^2)

For a 1275, according to the BMC/BL Workshop Manual:

Normal (approx.) .. .. 40 to 70 lb./sq. in.
Idling (approx.) .. .. 20 to ?? lb./sq. in.

My 1275 runs at about 55 psi once it's warmed up, and idles at 20-25.
