If I were you I would check the rear suspension, something is loose or worn. It 
sounds to me like your rear axle is walking on acceleration and returns to its 
normal position on deceleration.

When I accelerate it feels as though the car wants to steer right.  When I let
off the gas quickly it feels as though the car steers to the left!!!
