Hi all,
The subject says new Midget owner but the reality is new box of parts
owner. I took the plunge and invested in a 1968 MG Midget project car
about a week ago. This is literally a ground up restoration. The
previous owner started the restoration by removing everything in order to
repair the rusted out hulk. He in turn changed jobs and stopped working
on it 2 years ago. I picked it up to attempt finishing the job. The thing
needs a lot of work, but just looking at it in partial primer makes me
want to get in it and drive. Just like the Miata we once owned, that
never caused trouble and unfortunately had nothing to work on.

But, I digress. To make a short story long, I love this list and know it
will be very helpful. I live in the Chicago area (Northwest suburbs) and
am interested in finding some local resources (Mechanics, Shops,
Parts,...). I will also need plenty of advice and especially moral
support. My first big purchase needs to be a good shop manual. I would
greatly appreciate it if I could get suggestions as to which readily
available manual is the best for a '68 Midget. I want it to be as
detailed as possible.
Thanks in advance for help and I'll keep the list updated with project
progess periodically.
