77 MG Midget 1500 (located in Eastern PA, near
Allentown) I'll be at the Keystone region MG show
in Hellertown on Sunday if you are interested:

New: battery, fuel pump, ignition wires, hoses,
belts, filters, etc. The exhaust system was
recently replaced. Also has a rollover-bar, Weber
DGV carb, K&N filter, and electronic ignition.
Sills were replaced and it has very nice new red paint
(work was done at a body shop) Runs great; compression
is 145 +/- 5psi on all cyls. 68kmiles.

The following new-in-box parts are included in the
deal: a black Robbins top, a Coverlay dash cap, a
cat-converter ‘test-pipe’ (heh,heh) and a bunch of
other misc trim bits. The spare tire, jack and full
tonneau cover are all still in the boot. (tonneau has
some red overspray on it).

I’ll also include the ‘spridget support kit’ to get
you going: Bentley and Haynes factory workshop
manuals, Lindsay Porter’s Guide to DIY Spridget
restoration, a new owners manual reprint and the
original MG sales brochure.

This would make a great father/son(daughter?)
driving-restoration or even a second (3rd, 4th?)
as it does not need body work or paint, just minor
mechanicals.

So, what does it need? The hydraulics need some
attention - the clutch and brake MCs are out and
need to be rebuilt (or replaced). Also needs minor
cosmetics - the wheels need to be re-painted, the
carpet has seen better days and the seats and panels
need to be cleaned up. The interior is autumn leaf
if that matters. Everything else works but the horn.

I bought this car awhile ago and was going to finish
it for my wife to drive. She has decided that with a
new baby, she wont have the time to enjoy it (and I
the time/energy/ budget to finish it!). She doesn’t
want it and I don’t really fit into it (6’1"), so
we have decided to part with it. We’ll still have
the B and we agreed that will never be sold, at least
not while I’m living!

I’m not really up on the spridget market, but I’d
guess they sell for about 75% of a comparable RB/MGB
- after all, its only about 75% as big :-). I’ve seen
rubbernose Bs in worse condition go in the $3000 range.

So, using that as a basis, I figure, maybe $2500 as
a starting point? I could take less with some
good homebrew and/or a convincing reason.

If anyone isinterested, come take a look at it and lets
talk; it needs to go. Reach me at (610) 391-9336
Eastern time or e-mail.
