I meant that the calculation "In the last 6 years I've invested 8k into
this car, if I can't sell it for 8k now, the whole thing was a foolish
project!" is not fair.
For the same 8k one could have bought a used Jetta that depreciates over
time (unlike an LBC).  The Jetta would probably be worth around 2k after 6
years.  
Ergo, one could sell the Sprite for 2k and it would have still been a
financially sound undertaking in comparison.

This makes me feel a little better.
