  More-or-less standard procedure is to cover the combustion chamber with
a well-sealed sheet of plexiglass.  There should be a small hole in the
plexiglass for filling through at one edge of the chamber.  Tilt the head at
an angle with the fill hole at the highest point, then slowly fill the
chamber with liquid (kerosene or light oil from a graduated burrette).  Be
careful not to introduce air bubbles by sloppy filling.  When the chamber is
full read the graduations on the burrette to see how much was used.
