Okay, here's my 2 cents. My first car, in 1967, was an LBC, a 1963 Sunbeam
Alpine Ser. III. Of course it was a blast to drive, but soon I longed for a
car that had some power, so I traded it for a 1967 TR4A IRS, in 1969. These
were both fairly new cars at the time, as opposed to the same cars being
driven 30 years later. The TR was very nice, but I got married, had my first
child, and blew the main seal in the TR, so it was time for something with
more than an "occasional seat."

I traded the TR for a '64 VW Beetle. Later on I got back into British Iron
with a 1967 Rover 2000TC, another well built car, solid as a rock. In the mid
'70s it was difficult to find parts for the Rover.

Last November I got back into LBCs with my '77 Midget. I read the posts on
several lists, and you guys and gals really convinced me that a Spridget was
the way to go. I was also looking for a Spitfire, since I had a TR before,
but all the fun and great info given on THIS list helped make the decision.

It seems that MG folks are better organized than the TR community. I would
never knock any car...to each his own...but the MG web sites are bigger, and
have more classified ads, so it was easier to find a Spridget in my price
range than any other car.

Even though I haven't driven the Midget yet, I know I made the right choice.
All the encouragement found here, and the technical help, will get my Midget
on the road for the spring. Thanks again to all the listers.
