the grommets attached to the base broke off and made the whole mirror 
loose.  I finally had to pry it off (gently) since the grommets had 
long since separated from the base and then discover that I had been 
sent the wrong base (that plastic thing with the grommets).  After a 
while, and several DPO's, it all takes a beating, I suppose.  I'm 
left with a brand new mirror, two 2 inch holes in the door, and 
nothing to connect them with.  Yet.  If you get the remaining mirror 
off without breaking the base, let me know.  In the meantime, top 
down, flat out, safety fast.
