Thanks for the responses you folks provided on the driver's side mirror. Apparently the rectangular ones (marked "TEX") are original. Pretty brilliant of the British Leyland dopes to provide a nice chrome or stainless steel mirror, and affix it with a steel screw. It' amazing that they let MG live on in the US as long as it did.
