After installation of my new starter (which runs allot faster and sounds
better than the old one)I decided to do the spin on oil filter swap. I am
running a M0SS replacement generator and I compared it to the old one. It is
about a quarter inch longer. The spin on oil filter adapter (also from M*SS)
would hit the bottom end of the generator. Only way to remedy this was I got
just the right size fan belt and made my own alternator bracket so I could
adjust the generator further up, almost to its arc limit BTW. This seems to
work for now but what a hassle.

Question 1, nobody in town stocks alternator brackets, these things I guess
just don't ware out. I need a stock generator bracket but maybe 2 inches
longer than the original. Any ideas what would fit? Or should I approach a
machine shop to make me one?

The Sprite now starts up fine but after 20-60 sec it starts sputtering and
dies, some blue smoke as well. Also gas starts pouring out one of my floats.
Question 2, Could my mixture be going rich because of a stuck float valve or
is this something serious?
Thanks in advance...
