how very cool! about 15 years ago when i was seriously involved with the
classic chevrolet club (55-57) as a national judge and showing a restored 56
hard top i was exposed to what was referred to as an airport limo. i have
seen 2-56 and 1-57 chevrolet versions to date and was so taken by their
simplicity and neat length. all three were 8 door (4 per side) stretched
cars using a 4 door sedan as the ends and used front doors from a 4 door for
the extra 2 doors in the middle of each side. as a judge i was privledged
to inspect these custom modified cars in detail. these cars were
stretched back when new and were not modern modifications .

with this in mind i was going to take a 55 chevy 2 door sedan and a 4 door
sedan and make a stretch limo.
i was considering going into the limo business after it was to be finished
and never had the nerve to cut the 2 cars ( larry you saw them sitting in my
yard), now slated for a pro street car and a restoration for show purposes.

the dual cowel sprite is an even easier job to do both strength and required
stiffening to deter flex and sag over the length of the span. how about you
put a hard top on the rear section (removable of course ) and a targa type
removable forward section to make it an all weather afair(if so driven).

oh no dont get me started! somewhere there was a shortened up 57 chevy 4
door (down to a 2 door) that amusingly resembled a corvette with fins after
it was done. rather tastefully done too.

i had a 64 impala 4 door sedan once that had a rusted frame after the rear
axle that i knew(i have a pa. lic.) would not ever pass state inspection
again. so i always wanted a convertible 64! yup in about an hour cut off
all the door glass frames and the entire roof and for 4 months i had the
only 64 chevy 4 door convertible around. then it got stripped for running
gear and was recycled. ugly as it was it attracted a lot of attention.

just imagine if you did this stuff and actually did all of the body work and
painted it? like cool man ! far out funky and groovy............not to
mention pschychedelic daddy-o! or bitchin!

oh well that is my $32.50's worth
by the way , if you choose to dislike this post, that means that you are not
like me. from the point of the rest of the world, that is probably a good
thing. and the pennsylvania dutch say " that's why it gives chocolate and
vanilla".

chuck.
i have taken the liberty to have a larger than normal(if possible) rock
delivered for me to exist under.
the diet is not working and darn diabetes medication is still converting
blood sugar to fat and storing it(weight gain). i have a special array of
expletives to share on this matter and choose to not use this media to (or
the next hour) type them out ......c. yeah -yeah - like ummmm yer
welcome.
