The torsion bars that hold up the gullwings on Deloreans
are cryogenically treated. Makes them very strong and resiliant,
but also fragile.

If the torsion bar gets nicket or scratched, it's in danger
of shattering which can be really frightening. The bars are
really strong, I've held up the door while work was done on
it, and those door weight a ton. The bar is only about
1/2 inch thick.

(my business partner has a Delorean)
