Listers...why must there always be a 'tip of the iceburg'/'murphy's law'
associated with LBCing? Sigh. Wrestled the rear springs off the car this
weekend, inanticipation of completing the job, having waited until all the
parts *I thought I needed* had arrived.

What I wasn't counting on was the fact that the DPO had welded the front
leaf spring bolts to the bracket, making removal impossible. So, now it's
off to the spring shop to see if these can be salvaged.

Also discovered the four spring retaining plates the u-bolts pass through
ain't great. The holes having become elongated....

Well, maybe next weekend...on the plus side, the cooling system revamp is
complete, and work on other details - like installing the outer door window
weather strip. The small clips that hold the strip in place required the
making of a special tool - took an old long bladed slot screwdriver, heated
the end, and bent it into a 'J' - perfect width for holding the clip. With
a little adjustment, the 'J' actually gripped the clip to allow manuevering
it into place, then a quick pull upward, and voila...

Now, if I'd only ordered 3 extra clips.....

Fun ain't it?
