I'm the one who said "I still say it's a bad ground". I had the same
problem.

Subject: mymymy generator, voltage regulator problem

Newbie strikes back,

After Sifting through the ARCHIVES I found a treasure chest full of gold!

My battery went dead on a long cruise and left me stranded. I assumed it
was the generator ( not! ) I then tried to blame the voltage regulator (
not! )

Thanks to a discussion thread that I was reading one person said and I quote

them "I still say it's a bad ground".

Sure enough I checked the ground on my voltage regulator and it was CRAP!

kept grounding through the ignition light and blowing them. This also
explains why the battery was not being charged at cruise speeds.

WOW!

=)Chris
