I was running that combination, downflow and 6-blade plastic fan.
It did get close and I trimmed the plastic fan a little where it gets
close to the breather.  Can you move your engine back a little?

That would be ok, but it wouldn't be POSITIVE crankcase ventilation.
Better than nothing, but if you have an oil leak at the crank, you may
want to find a PCV valve.  I think Peter C. may have them NOS.
