I don't know but I use to this sort of pressure on my engine a lot at one 
time and in the winter.  Once made the mistake of putting STP in with Mobil 1 
and nearly 'pinned' the gauge on a cold morning.

I doubt you are doing much harm because I expect it drops back a bit once the 
engine warms up.
