Sorry to hit the whole list with this, but a few weeks ago I was asking
about dashes, and someone one the list asked about a source for the metal
with a swirled finish (I think that's what he was asking about). Also know
as "engine-turned" or "damascene." You know the stuff - you see it in a lot
of custom hot rod dashes and some luxury cars of the 30s especially. And I
found that the current Bentley Continental T as a dash made of it.

Anyway I thought I might like that myself, and I finally thought to do some
web searches to find a supplier. Found some places tonight and got a real
shock. On place had a special - 13" x 18" for only $195! Found another place
for $100 / square foot! Good grief, I didn't expect those kind of prices.

FWIW, the suppliers I found are:

http://www.musclecarsonline.com/products.htm

I may break down and get the kit from Eastwood to do it myself, but it
sounds really tedious and you have to be really precise to get all the
little swirls lined up right Maybe I could build a sort of jig - I have some
ideas from woodworking jigs used for cutting precisely spaced notches for
finger joints. If you're interested in the kit, go to
http://www.eastwoodco.com and search for part number 13117 or 13118.

Anybody else know of a place to get this stuff?

Thanks,

Eddie
