This is actually a common error - I had a lab engineer
tell me an expensive thermocouple was wrong because he
compared it with boiling water, and it was less than
212F/100C.  Our lab, at the time, was in Los Alamos,
NM @ 7400 feet, where the BP is less than 200F.
