1500 oil pumps

Ok, there appears to be a difference between the oil pumps from a 75 1500
and a 76 and newer 1500.  Easily identified difference is the 75 has a
straight pickup tube and the 76 has an angled pickup tube.  Are there any
other differences that I should be looking for?  Does it make any
difference?
