I agree with everybody else. It sure looks like Arkansas mud/clay to me. 
Reading the letter from the supposed Sherriffs office, it says that the 
serial numbers had been filed off. Yet, you can see the writings on the 
slide. Anybody know if that's where the serial numbers are on a S&W .45?
It also says that may be able to return it to it's owner. If the serial 
numbers are missing, how can you tell who the owner is??????????
Also, Evapo-Rust did a nice job restoring the wooden handle on that hatchet 
at the bottom of the page. ;-)
