I still consider myself to be a novice and if I have all the parts and a
helper, using a cherry picker to pull the engine, it would take me a half-day
to do the job. Some listers can probably do it in half tha time, but I am
slow. That is assuming too, that I worked only on replacing the clutch with
no other distractions. My problem is, and it is actually a good problem, that
once I get the engine out, I get into the "might as well as long as the
engine is out" mode. Start replacing bearings, timing chain, etc. But then,
"might as well as long as the engine is out!" Thus it usually takes me a
good week or better. 8^)
For the clutch job, you need some sort of locater for the clutch plate as you
re-install it--the kind made for the job is the best, but I once used a
funnel and it worked just fine. Good time to rebuild the slave cylinder too
(see what I mean?)
