The ZS carb. sounds like a real PITA in
view of "high idle" problem just experienced by another lister, along
with
your buddy mechanic's "loading up"
tip. (This application needs SU's!!)
Old gas is bad news so hopefully, once
this junk goes through, better days in
smoother running await without further
work.
