Okay so after months of inactivity I'm back, ready and rearing to ask my silly
inarticulate questions. I've been lurking, mostly because I couldn't post, and
I didn't have any questions. But the first is all cleared up now, but I still
don't have any questions.

As some of you know I moved from lovely Colorado to Ohio back in August.
Moving was not the adventure I thought it would be. To begin with we began the
move by travelling with some friends to Michigan to the national MG v8 meet. I
drove my boyfriend's stock '71 MGB while he drove his '71 v8 conversion. We
were planning to drop the cars off in Ohio, buy a pickup truck, and drive back
for the rest of the stuff. 10 miles outside of Ogallala NE the v8 had a tire
blow out, so we had breakfast before heading along with 4 brand new beautiful
tires. 4 miles outside of North Platte NE (the next big city on the path) I
heard a bang and felt the car shake. We pulled over and the alternator had
snapped off the water pump mounting bracket. The whole bracket mind you. So
we limped the car to town and parked it at my grandfather's house. So now I'm
in the v8, everything's going fine, until 45 miles outside Lincoln we hear
another bang, and to make a long story short the v8 blew up. Threw a rod and
we have a lovely chunk of block now sitting in the kitchen, waiting to be
framed. So we had the car towed to a friend's brother in laws house. At this
point we're out of cars, but fortunately our friends happen to have 2 extra
seats, and a bit of trunk room. One v8 and one WRX wagon. (Thank God for that
WRX wagon) So even longer story short we made it, made 2 more trips across the
country to get the rest of our junk and eventually made it. Found a nice
apartment in Akron Ohio, and started looking for jobs, one down one to go. I'm
now bartending, driving the only LBC that I know of in the town I work in, and
trying to get into the rhythm of life again. Just got email access a few days
ago, and am finally back on the list. As I've said I've been lurking, and
since I'm a little homesick I've got to say that reading the list helped a lot.
It was really nice to have people I 'know' around every day while my family
and friends are so far away.

All in all it sucked, but we made it hear in one piece (towed the bugeye btw)
and are hoping to get back to working on the v8 very soon.
