Frank makes a good point that there are plenty of good machine shops out
there that have been open long enough to see English A motors. If you've
got a local shop that you know personally does good work on English motors,
post their name and give them a plug.

For the Northern California (and Crash), Del's Automotive Machine shop in
Sacramento does good work, knows A-series motors well, and did my turbo
bugeye block and head work a few years ago and it hasn't had any problem
since that last rebuild. Fixed a crack in the head, put in hardened seats,
changed valve guides, ground the new valves, decked the block and skimmed
the head, checked the crank and rods as well as putting the new pistons onto
the old rods.
Good work, reasonably priced. I don't know the guy, haven't been back
since, and have absolutely no interest in his business. But next time I
need work I'll be back.
