Chuck,

While you are waiting to get an appointment with an real offline doctor (no
offense "Cap'n" Bob) go to a library or bookstore and get a book on
stretching. Even without an exercise program like cycling, swimming or
running stretching does wonders for you and once you start a exercise program
you'll need to stretch anyway. Fifteen to twenty minutes first thing in the
morning will get you going. I have a good illustrated book by Bob Anderson
that also includes stretches for specific sports/activities and the deskbound.
(NFI).

Yoga is even better than stretching but takes much more time and dedication.
Kept many a "maturing" athlete in their game longer and injury free. Great
thing about both of them - no equipment, no special facility and a convenient
way to release tension during the day right where you are, in whatever you are
wearing (or not)

Cap'n Bob's advice is right on the mark about seeing a doctor. There is a
tendency to take the motivation and enthusiasm and overdo it with perhaps
very serious consequences. Minor injuries (not your normal aches and pains)
will slow you down and may even discourage continuation.

It is a great time to start training for the next quarter century! Good
Luck!!

Dale
