I had no notice whatsoever until the high bidder telephoned me. What I believe
happened, was that someone hacked into my Yahoo account, and accessed eBay from
there. Although my "info page" on Yahoo has all my information correct, any mail
that I send says that it is coming from Rachel Lee. Also, for a period of about
a
week, we received no incoming mail on Yahoo. Rachel had complete control of
Yahoo
for that time, and I suspect is still using it, although Yahoo insists it is now
mine. Anyway, back to eBay. When I received the phone call, I immediately
accessed eBay and confirmed that the item number was listed under my name. I
then went to My eBay, and the item was not listed at all. The first notice that
I
got from eBay was when they attempted to cancel my account for non payment of
the
listing fees and commission. This was just last week. I had cancelled my low
limit card that I had used only for eBay immediately after hearing from the
purchaser. In all fairness, eBay did cancel their charges when I replied to
their
notice. Prior to replying, I did check My eBay and confirm that I had
outstanding
charges on my page. It has been a royal nightmare, and the person doing it is
still running around because every jurisdiction lays the responsibility on
another state. When you see headlines about people in the western US taking the
law into their own hands, this is just one example of why it happens. We have
too
many laws and not enough enforcement.
