Pardon me if I wrote this tip before, I am suffering from that C-Nile 
virus ;)

On the later style pedal boxes (2 masters) if you weld the nuts in place 
inside the box it makes for a much easier, almost pleasurable removal 
the next time. And it you use 5/16 x 16 (coarse thread nuts and bolts) 
it makes it even quicker to remove the masters from the box.
And use the shortest possible bolt too. 3/4 I think works fine.
