My kid's Mini had 12:1 compression, it was a nightmare!
We bought an already worked engine from the junk man, .40 over flat top 
pistons in a 1275, decked, shaved, and over cam-ed.
Fast? hell yeah! Streetable, no way.

I also found the VP7 just a bit too much for the street. I was fouling 
plugs way too fast. But there are way toooooooo many traffic lights in 
this town.
