So the task is done. 6 hours
worth of labor, I had the A
arms with the king pins
installed, and almost a grand
later, the car drives smoothly
again.
Moral of the Story?? GREASE
YOUR SUSPENSION OFTEN!!!
We all let things slide, but
this is one thing you should
not forget. Sure, I saved a
bit on time and trouble over
the years, but lost the
handling that made the car a
blast to drive. I took it down
the worst road in town, and it
didn't make a sound. The ride
was fairly smooth considering
the road condition. I even
left the Wheelright Shock kit
off it, and you would never
know it.
I want to do a shout out to
Peter Caldwell at NOSImports.
If you get his shock, you WILL
NOT need a tube shock
conversion. False economy, end
of story.
Also I want to thank Edwin K,
for all the help, follow-up
emails, and phone calls. Ed
would remember something else
that might need attention, and
email or call me to confirm if
I felt it was needed or not.
This was NOT done to make more
sales, as there was no
pressure, he was just making
me aware of other parts that
would possibly be worn due to
my ignoring proper maintenance
(my words, not Ed's) If I
chose not to replace a part,
he was fine with that, he just
wanted me informed. This sure
doesn't sound like the Ed you
see on the list. If you take a
chance and DO buy some parts
from him, you will find him to
helpful and informative. Still
a pain in the ass, but when
you are working on your car,
he is an ASSet!!
So, remember to USE YOUR
GREASE GUN!! It is the
cheapest tool the buy, and the
most expensive to
ignore.......
