Bugeyes never had the flaps. Like Jay said, they are for the MKIIs and on Sprites to secure the flaps behind the seats. For puddles on the tonneau, just tip the seats forward about midway. Works for me. Now onto the "shorty" tonneaus. I prefer them over the original long ones. No scratches or flap marks on the paint from the hood clips to the cockpit.
