ummm after years of driving numerous cars in shops and of friends and my
own i do not think twice about my driving a car with bent legs as nothing
made, that i have ever driven, ever really "fit " me. my sports racer was
designed around an elva MK6 chassis and it's a semi reclined seating
chassis. to acomodate me i must sit perfectly upright in the car ! my
bugeye has been a part of me / my life, for nearly 31 years now. not once
have i ever thought it to be uncomfortable with how my legs fit in the car.
yes! my knees are "bent" and i still am very comfortable in the car having
driven it as far as alexandria Va. years ago. my biggest gripe is the
floor of the car gets so darn hot due to the lowered chassis and raised
exhaust that it could (and did!) melt my heels of my sneekers on long trips
years ago. my car is quite literally an H-production road race car as far
as the suspension goes and is very low and horribly(like rattling fillings
out of yer teeth!) stiff too! the handling of the car is absolutly
incredible right up to point of "yeild" of the BFG comp T/A R1 tires on
it(with no body roll). and yet i do not find the seating position (or
stock seat)uncomfortable. a few years ago i was able to use the signature
line"the world's largest sprite driver". between my height and weight at
that time i still drove the car when i wanted to. i have only found 1 car
i was unable to get into and that was a MK1 jabro. i have driven a BMW
isetta. i mean c'mon. i find the bugeye rather comfortable. now granted
if it had a later style radio console in it, i would not like that very
much as that is right about where my right knee goes. oh, i did try to get
into my friend's 2002 "dewalt" lemans morgan areo 8 and found the seat to
narrow to get into it far enough to get my other leg in the car! but i did
try to "put the car on"! i was forewarned i was too tall but did attempt
just because i wanted to see what the vantage point behind the wheel looked
like to the driver once in the car. (no way was i going to drive it!)
i'm fortunate to have driven a number of other cars and seriously do find
the bugeye very comfortable. besides! i'm not gonna own a ferrari GTO,
porsche 904(like my dad test drove ), or any other period exotic car....and
the bugeye has evry bit of styling of that era!

chuck.
much "smaller" but not "shorter" than years ago!
