gauge lights

After rewiring the bugeye and having gauge lights that work I am wondering 
if anyone has shielded the gauges in some way to get more light to the 
dials.  It seems now I have more light on the foot boxes than on the gauges.

Also visited every parts store in town yesterday searching for 2-3 watt 
screw in bulbs for the gauges and couldn't find any.  Anyone have a source.
