I think you are right. After all, what is the difference between a Buick and 
a Pontiac and an Olds and a Chevy anymore? Yeah, I know Olds is gone, but 
still. Cadillac has stepped out of line and assured its continued existence 
for a while, but the others represent badge engineering at its worst IMHO.
