Hi Kurtis,

I was shown two neat tricks to get these nasty little pilot bearing out.

One is fail-safe, one works most of the time.

Packing the pilot bearing with grease and use a close fitting drift to fit
inside of the bearing. As grease is liquid and doesn't compress it will push
the bushing out. Problem is you must have a close /tight fitting drift to make
it work. Works most of the time.

This works every time, Find a tap that fits nicely inside the bushing and will
thread into the bushing. Turn it into the bushing and when it bottoms out the
bushing rides up the the tap. Works everytime. Beats the heck out of using a
chisel to bend it out and doesn't hurt the end of the crank shaft. It does
ruin the bushing but if you are removing it then most likely it is bad any ways.

Cheers

WW Ricky
