So my son got the engine installed in his Mini.
Once again I am stuck with a nightmare car!
10 years have passed and I never forgot his first Mini.
Now he has a second one and it's just as bad.
Oil in the water, and water in the oil.
The brand new oil and water are both gray and "whipped"
165 psi compression in all cyls but it is not hitting on 2 and 3.
There is spark, Single HIF44 POS SU carb known to work.

We assumed a blown head gasket, and yes it's a copper one, the ONLY ones
that have ever given us troubles in all the years with all the A series
engines. But this one *looks* fine.

Did I mention lots of oil/water in places it shouldn't be?
We had it running for a total of 3 minutes.

This is a late model A+ engine.

So something killing #2 & #3, no visable signs of trouble.
Bad head? Bad block? Bad car? yeah, that's it, it's a friggin Mini
I used to yank the engine out of his old Mini once a week every week for
a solid year before he got smart and bought a VW. What's the matter with
this kid?

Any ideas?
Anybody have a Mini engine?
