I used to be a Technology and Digital High School coordinator... but no
more... so I might be out of touch. I stopped at MAC OS X - that was UNIX
based, not Linux. Very good OS. I use a MAC latop with OS X and several PCs
with either Windows 2000 Pro or Window XP Pro. I don't know if MAC has a
newer system than OS X.

Yes, the main reason MACs are not attacked by hackers is that the user base
is small. My guess is that presently less than 4% of computer users have
MACs.

In my job as Technology Coordinator for a large High School, I worked with
hundreds of users. Most had Windows machines, most did not care what they
were using if it worked. A few were "PC bigots", saying loud and clear that
only PCs running Windows were worth having.

MAC users were a different bunch. I met two types: the first one was the
"technology ignoramus", completely lost if anything - and I mean anything -
went wrong. The other was the "intellectual", who usually implied I was a
moron because I dared prefer the Windows based machines. To be frank, I
found the Windows users a friendlier bunch and easier to deal with than the
MAC brigade!
